Fort George, Ardersier Description:

Fort George's garrison buildings, artillery defences bristling with cannon, and superb collection of arms – including bayoneted muskets, pikes, swords and ammunition pouches – provide a fascinating insight into 18th century military life.
There is a self-guided audio tour available in English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Japanese. The Fort George Story, an audio visual presentation of approximately 12 minutes duration, plays continuously (in English) in one of the casemates. The Camp Cinema shows a short film (in English) of a nineteenth century battle re-enactment.

The café is open daily during the summer months, with restricted opening hours in winter. Please note that the café operates a reduced menu in winter.  The menu includes freshly ground coffee, which is complemented by a tempting range of traditional Scottish home-baking including scones and shortbread.
