Route Description:

The Lake District, within the National Park, is definitely a challenge.  Some of these roads are quite narrow, not very well surfaced, very steep in places and depending on the season - bustling with retired drivers attempting to climb a 1:3 gradient towing a small caravan clogging up the passes - so watch out.  On the other hand, these roads are just incredible for biking, relaxed, well surfaced, great climbs, beautiful views and plenty of twists and turns to keep you on your toes.  This routes visits many of the Lakes attractions; Hardknott Pass, Coniston Water, Honister Pass, Wast Water, Wrynose Pass, Derwent Water, Whinlatter Pass and Kirkstone Pass to name a few - its unlikely anywhere else in England you will experience so many hill climbs.
