Skara Brae Visitors Centre, Sandwick Description:

The best preserved prehistoric village in northern Europe, with eight dwellings linked by low alleyways. The beautifully constructed houses have stone beds, dressers, seats and boxes of provisions and a hearth where dried heather, bracken and seaweed was burned. A replica house has been created next to the site. Many original artefacts found at Skara Brae are on display in the Visitor Centre, Café and shop.
